Overview

 

The Golf House Retail Assistant role at Terranea Resort is an opportunity for an individual to be integrally involved in the operation of a 9-hole par-3 golf course within the only oceanfront destination resort in Los Angeles. In addition to the 9-holes, a full short-game practice area, and a full stocked Golf House will provide an ideal environment for our guests to enjoy a one of a kind golf experience. The golf operations team will interact and collaborate closely with other recreation and service departments of the resort.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of use and maintenance of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of property management system and manual procedures.
  • Be familiar with all hotel packages, promotions, prices and rates.
  • Sell Merchandise.
  • Perform Opening and Closing Procedures as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of hours, reservation and cancellation policies.
  • Maintain strict adherence to rate, associate privileges and complimentary golf policies as directed by management.
  • Coordinate Shipment of Guest Purchases, as directed by a Manager.
  • Coordinate and assist in merchandising duties as directed by a Manager
  • Process Merchandise Returns.
  • Complete and Fill Out checklist established for daily operation.
  • Comply with all Point-of-Sale policies and procedures.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service.
  • Adhere to work schedule, inclusive of time and attendance.
  • Participate in all relevant training, programs and meetings as directed by management.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise.
  • Comply with all sales related policies and procedures.
  • Maintain sales floor, merchandise organization and stock levels.
  • Participate in month end inventories.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all inventory in the stockroom and on the sales floor.
  • Properly execute all relevant register functions.
  • Utilize the elevated levels of sales and service to maximize sales performance.
  • Process Merchandise Returns.
  • Close out Cash Register and process close out reports as needed.
  • Deposit reports and Cash Drops in General Cashiers Office.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up.
  • Ability to be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Ability to follow directions thoroughly.
  • Ability to understand guest’s service needs.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Exert physical effort in lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Remain on feet for entire work shifts.
  • Remain in stationary position throughout work shift.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Capable of multi-tasking during extremely busy environment and interacting with multiple guests.

Experience, Education, & Licensure:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Prior experience in retail operations preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in a golf environment preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the game of golf and basic operation of a golf course preferred.
  • Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position.

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate $19.72/ Hr.
